Shirou Emiya is forced into a tournament to the death called the Holy Grail War. Combatants fight with summoned “servants”, heroes from all of human history, in order to have their desires granted by the Holy Grail of Arthurian legend and Christian tradition. Each servant fits a certain class, such as archer, saber, berserker, rider, lancer, assassin, and caster. The Fate series started as a visual novel developed by Type-Moon for Windows in 2004 before vast arrays of adaptations in anime, movies, manga, a mobile gacha game, a fighting game series, and light novels.
The nature of adapting visual novels with multiple routes triggered adaptations of Fate to build up a vast and convoluted timeline. For the sake of the map, I avoided grouping locations by either source material or general area. Many of the locations from the original visual novel and first anime adaptations are taken from around Kobe, Yokohama, and Tokyo. Often times the Fate visual novel and later adaptations used different models for interiors and exteriors of the same locations. Several key locations are clustered around the Meiji-mura area in the outskirts of Nagoya.
