The story of the Joestar family and its descendants, who are possessed with intense psychic strength, and the bizarre adventures each “JoJo” encounters throughout their lives.
Apart from the 90’s OVA treatment of Stardust Crusaders by Studio A.P.P.P., JoJo is currently being adapted into an anime by David Production, which as of writing has reached the conclusion of Part 6. The manga began serialization in 1987 and is ongoing with the recent launch of part 9, The JoJoLands.
Despite some parts which are local to towns like Morioh-cho or single nations like Italy or the United States, by-in-large, JoJo is a globetrotting adventure. The reproducibility of Part 5 is the highest, partly because it doesn’t utilize fictionalized locations, and partly because Araki went on a trip to Italy for some inspiration. The point on Google Maps where there’s a pin marked for the Jotaro vs. Dio fight is actually the wrong bridge.
The Araki Ripples of Adventure Exhibition was held in the Tokyo National Art Center before hopping to some other locations, and seen last in May 2022. JoJo themed attractions have frequently popped up at Universal Studios Japan.
